Privacy Policy

The Short Version

Your resume, profile, and personal data belong to you. We process them to tailor your resumes — then the results land in your inbox. We don't sell your data and we don't share it with third parties for advertising.

What Data We Collect

  • Account info — email address and hashed password. That's it.
  • Your resume — the file you upload or text you paste. Stored in your isolated workspace.
  • Your profile — skills, experience, preferences. Either extracted from your resume or entered manually.
  • Job search criteria — target roles, salary expectations, location preferences.
  • Usage data — how many resumes you've generated, when, and quota usage. No behavioral tracking.

How Your Data Is Stored

  • Private workspace — your resumes and profile live in a workspace only you can access. Other users can't see them.
  • Encrypted when stored — sensitive details like your API keys are encrypted, so they're not readable in plain text anywhere.
  • Never public — your account and search history are kept in a private database, not exposed to the public internet.

How Your Resume Is Processed

When you run the resume tailoring pipeline:

  1. Your resume and the job description are sent to an LLM for tailoring.
  2. The tailored content is rendered into a PDF.
  3. The PDF is emailed to you.
  4. That's it. The tailored resume is not stored externally.

If you bring your own API key (BYOK), your resume goes directly from our server to your chosen LLM provider. We only allow Zero-Data-Retention (ZDR) providers — they process your request in-memory and don't retain your data.

If you use the free tier, your resume is processed through LLM providers that commit to not using your data for any purpose other than generating your tailored resume — nothing else.

Zero-Data-Retention Providers

For BYOK users, we restrict LLM providers to those with verified Zero-Data-Retention policies. These providers process your data in-memory during inference and do not persist request bodies. Currently available providers:

  • DeepInfra — in-memory only during inference, no request body logging
  • Fireworks AI — zero-data-retention by default, your data is not persisted
  • Cerebras — explicit "no retention of inputs or outputs" in privacy policy

Providers like OpenAI Platform, Anthropic Console, Google AI Studio, and OpenRouter are not available for BYOK because they retain request bodies.

What We Don't Do

  • ❌ Sell your data to anyone
  • ❌ Track you across other websites
  • ❌ Show you ads

Data Retention

We keep your data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Deleted workspaces become inaccessible to you immediately and their underlying content is removed from our systems on a routine purge cycle. Account-level data (your email and login) is retained until you request full erasure. We never use your resume content to train AI models.

Third-Party Processors

We rely on a small set of processors to run Jobbee. None of them sell your data and none of them are advertising networks:

  • LLM providers — either our default-pool models or your chosen BYOK provider. BYOK is restricted to Zero-Data-Retention providers (see above).
  • Cloud infrastructure — hosting, storage, and managed database for account and workspace data.
  • Email transport — delivers your tailored-resume emails and verification/reset links.
  • Product analytics — privacy-safe, EU-hosted analytics. We never send your raw email, resume contents, or personal identifiers — only an irreversible hashed identifier.

Changes to This Policy

We'll update this page when this policy changes and we'll note the new effective date above. Material changes will also be announced via the email on file for your account.

Your Controls

  • Bring your own key — full control over which LLM provider processes your data.
  • Delete anytime — you can delete a workspace from the dashboard. Deletion makes your resume and profile inaccessible to you and stops all further processing on it. The underlying record is then purged from our systems on a routine retention cycle.
  • Export on request — email hello@jobbee.io to request a copy or permanent erasure of your account and data.
